I have a three-year-old whose favorite activity in the world is going to Denver Zoo. She has had various favorites over the years—including Gill the porcupine, Joona, the otters and of course the lions (during her Lion King stage). She knows most of the animals’ names, and loves interacting with the volunteers.
We love the Zoo, and go as often as possible. It really got us through this last year, and the reopening during COVID-19 has been so thoughtful and well planned. It has grown my child’s love of animals and gets us outside during the time we need it the most. She now wants to be an “animal doctor” and I attribute it to her days at the Zoo!
