During 2013–2014, our son Zander was in and out of Children’s Hospital. We would stay at the Ronald McDonald House in Aurora for three months at a time. We went many, many times to visit your lovely Zoo. Zander loved the gorillas and the Conservation Carousel, and once even got to feed and pet Cheyenne the rhino.
I have so many wonderful memories with my son from those visits. After a long journey to a transplanted heart, Zander passed away from complications. We miss him dearly, but hold these memories close to our hearts.
