I’ve been going to the zoo since I was little; it has always been a favorite place for me to go. It was the best location for a school field trip, and I remember family visits where we would pack our own lunch and eat Giraffe Meadows.
When I was really little, my favorite part was the pronghorn statue that stood near the entrance to the zoo. There are countless bad angle photos done by me, because I found it fascinating. When the Zoo was remodeled and the grassy area was replaced with Predator Ridge, I lost track of the statue and finally reached out to the Zoo to track him down! I love how many memories I have in the old buildings and seeing the new changes that happen. I love taking photos, then and now, and use current photos to help in the creation of art.
